This medieval fortification became the residence of Egyptian rulers and also the seat of government for over 690 years. 

After which you move to the Khan El Khalili bazaar. The bazaar was known as a center of trade in the old Egypt and remains the same till today. Also one of the tourist attractions you’d enjoy in Cairo, the Khan El Khalili bazaar is one place where you can shop to your heart’s delight. 

The things you can buy in the Khan El Khalili bazaar are historical traditionally-made souvenirs that include the following; glass perfume bottles, shisha pipes, urns, brass trays, lamps, jewelry, coffee pots, cutlery, wooden boxes, water jugs, candle holders, candlesticks, kitchen utensils, textiles (especially the Khayamiya), and vases.
