Coptic Cairo  

Coptic Cairo is the home of Christianity in Cairo, Egypt . Historically, it is believed that the holy family visited Coptic Cairo  when they sought refuge from Herod. Coptic Cairo houses Many Coptic churches and the Coptic museum where you can find original Coptic arts.

In this tour, you will see the Hanging church. The hanging church got its popular alias name from its location. It is located above a gatehouse of Babylon Fortress, and can by one can reach it by Twenty-nine steps. Initially, it is named Saint Virgin Mary's Coptic Orthodox Church. The church was founded as early as the 3rd century. 

Cave Church in Cairo

You would also visit the Saint Simon monastery. It is also known as the cave church of Zabaleen. It has many churches that were built in caves. There is the Saint Simon the Tanner Hall and St. Mark's Church. Both churches are in a cave. The top story is the Saint Simon Tanner Hall. It can house up to 2000 worshipers at the same time. The lower story is Saint Mark's church. The church is named after saint mark the first preacher in Egyptian history. In the monastery also lies the cathedral of the Virgin Mary and Saint Simon, the Tanner. It is the biggest in the monastery. 

In the Coptic City are other churches like Saints Sergius and Bacchus Church (Abu Serga), Monastery and Church of St. George (Greek Orthodox), Saint Barbara Church and so on.
