What makes Egypt work at the luxury level is operational precision — not marble lobbies. The sites are extraordinary regardless of how you visit them. What changes with a private Egyptologist, five-star hotels, and a structured itinerary is everything surrounding the sites: the timing, the sequence, the depth of what you understand when you are standing there, and the complete absence of friction from one moment to the next.

Your itinerary contains the sites on your itinerary, and nothing else.

That precision matters more in Egypt than almost anywhere else. Egypt's tourism infrastructure contains specific, documented problems that do not exist at this scale in most luxury destinations. Guides who earn retail commissions route travelers through papyrus galleries and perfume factories that appear nowhere in the confirmed itinerary. Operators whose licences do not exist take payment from international travelers and vanish. Hotels described as five-star that would not qualify as three anywhere in Western Europe. Shared vans where a group of two is seated beside a group of twelve, waiting for a third group to load.

The structure of every package on this page was built around these problems. A licensed Egyptologist is not a local English-speaking guide who uses the title informally — they hold a university degree in Egyptology and have passed the Egyptian Ministry of Tourism's national licensing examination. That qualification determines what they can legally do inside a royal tomb and what they actually understand when they explain it. Every guide on these tours holds this license. None of them earn retail commissions.

Pyramids Land Tours has operated private Egyptologist-led tours since 2001. We are IATA-certified and Egypt Tourism Authority-licensed.

What Every Package Includes

Six itineraries. One consistent standard.

Every package includes a licensed Egyptologist assigned exclusively to your group for every touring day — not shared with other bookings at any point. Five-star accommodation throughout — specific properties confirmed in your final itinerary, sent at least one week before your departure. All domestic flights within Egypt. All entrance fees at every site listed in the itinerary. Daily breakfast at your hotel; lunch every day, your guide is with you. On Nile cruise portions, full board is included — breakfast, lunch, and dinner throughout. A private vehicle and dedicated driver handle all ground transfers. Bottled water throughout.

Not included in any package: international flights, Egypt entry visa (approximately $30 per person, paid on arrival at Cairo International Airport — verify the current fee at visa2egypt.gov.eg before travel), dinners outside cruise portions, alcohol, optional monument upgrades paid on-site by card (such as the Great Pyramid interior or specific Valley of the Kings tombs), gratuities, travel insurance (required — not provided by Pyramids Land), and personal expenses.

Every package can be adjusted to suit group size, hotel preferences, or pace before booking. Post-booking adjustments are handled case by case — contact us directly.

How to Choose the Right Package

Six packages. They differ in duration, depth, and whether the itinerary includes a Nile cruise or stays at named landmark hotels at each stop.

Not sure how many days you need? Most first-time visitors choose 9 or 11 days. If you are adding Egypt to a longer international trip, 5 or 6 days cover the essentials properly.

If you have 5 days

The 5-Day Package covers Cairo and Luxor — two cities, focused rather than rushed. The Grand Egyptian Museum and the Giza Plateau in Cairo; the Valley of the Kings and Karnak in Luxor. A domestic flight connects them on Day 3. Saqqara, Aswan, and Abu Simbel require more time and appear in the longer packages. This is the right structure for first-time visitors with a fixed travel window who want depth at two sites over surface coverage of five. Your guide for all five days is a licensed Egyptologist — typically Mahmoud Hoka, our Giza specialist, who has walked that plateau every week for over fifteen years.

5-Day Egypt Luxury Package

If you have 6 days

One additional day adds Aswan and Saqqara. Saqqara — the Step Pyramid complex, 4,700 years old, predating Giza and visited by a fraction of those crowds — gets a Cairo morning of its own. Aswan gets a full day: Philae Temple by motor launch across the reservoir, the Unfinished Obelisk still lying in the quarry bedrock where it was abandoned mid-carve, and a felucca sail on the First Cataract as the light drops. Two domestic flights, three cities, the complete narrative arc. The Aswan day is typically guided by Fatma, who specializes in Nubian culture and knows which parts of Philae most visitors walk past without knowing what they're seeing.

6-Day Egypt Luxury Tour

If you have 7 days

The 7-Day Package builds a 3-night Nile cruise into the center of the itinerary — not appended at the end, but structured as the journey's core. Two days in Cairo, then a flight to Luxor to board. The cruise moves south through Edfu (the best-preserved temple in Egypt, its carved reliefs unweathered and fully readable) and Kom Ombo before arriving in Aswan. The ship is shared with other passengers in common areas and at mealtimes — your Egyptologist, your vehicle at each port, and your shore excursion schedule remain entirely private to your group. Seven days structured around the river.

7-Day Egypt Luxury Holiday

If you have 9 days

You were on the upper deck somewhere between Edfu and Kom Ombo when Mahmoud pointed at the east bank. The temple appeared around the river bend before the dock — white pylons in the late afternoon light, the riverside palms completely still. You had not expected to see it from the water first. The Nile gives Kom Ombo back the context it was designed for. No road transfer provides that approach.

The 9-Day Elite Package adds Abu Simbel — reached by early morning flight from Aswan, two rock-cut temples fronted by 20-meter colossi of Ramesses II, relocated in 1968 when engineers cut both structures into blocks weighing up to 30 tonnes and reassembled them sixty meters higher to save them from the rising reservoir — and gives Cairo three full days covering the GEM, Giza, and Saqqara separately without compression. Four nights on a 5-star Nile cruise ship. The ship is shared in common areas; your Egyptologist and touring schedule are entirely private. Nothing rushed.

9-Day Elite Egypt Luxury Package

If you have 10 days

The 10-Day Hotel Circuit is for travelers who prefer named landmark hotels at each location over cruising. Marriott Mena House in Cairo — the 1869 hotel built beside Khedive Ismail's palace. Direct Pyramid views from the rooms, the pool terrace, and the breakfast table: not a photograph in a brochure but a daily experience. [CONFIRM: Ashraf to provide currently open Luxor 5-star — Hilton Luxor Resort & Spa suggested]. [CONFIRM: Ashraf to provide currently open Aswan 5-star — Movenpick Resort Aswan or Benben Boutique Hotel suggested]. [CONFIRM: Kempinski Hotel Soma Bay — verify still open] on the Red Sea.

Edfu Temple is visited on the private overland transfer between Luxor and Aswan — a full guided stop, not a drive-past. Complete flexibility at each city, no fixed ship schedule, a private room at each location. Abu Simbel is available as an optional day trip from Aswan. Two Red Sea days close the trip.

10-Day Luxury Egypt Tour with Hurghada

If you have 11 days

The night before Abu Simbel you set the alarm for 04:30. By the time the morning flight touched down, the horizon was still dark at the edges. You came around the final path and the colossi were lit — four seated figures of Ramesses II, twenty meters tall, carved into the sandstone cliff. In 1968, engineers cut both temples into blocks weighing up to 30 tonnes and reassembled them sixty meters higher to save them from the rising reservoir. Standing there at first light, before any other groups arrived, that knowledge made the temples more extraordinary rather than less.

The 11-Day Package follows the same structure as the 9-Day Elite — Cairo, Luxor, Nile cruise, Aswan, Abu Simbel — and adds two days at a 5-star Red Sea resort in Hurghada. This contrast is deliberate: nine days of concentrated ancient history at full depth, then two days with no guide, no schedule, and the water in front of you. For travelers who want to leave Egypt feeling they understood it — not simply that they moved through it efficiently.

What Most Luxury Operators Won't Tell You

Egyptian papyrus-making, perfume distillation, and alabaster carving are real crafts — some have been practiced the same way for thousands of years. Understanding them is part of understanding Egypt. We take you to a small number of certified workshops where these crafts are still done properly: a working papyrus studio in Cairo, an alabaster atelier near the Valley of the Kings, and a perfume essence house when the itinerary allows. The visit is short; your Egyptologist explains the craft and its history, and you leave with context — not a hard sell.

What sets this apart from a commission-driven shopping stop is its commercial model. Egypt's mainstream tour industry runs on guides receiving a percentage from purchases at unverified shops bolted onto itineraries for the kickback. Our guides are salaried. They earn nothing from what you buy at any workshop. The workshops themselves are vetted by us. There is no obligation to purchase, no pressure if you don't, and no time padding designed to push you toward a transaction. If you want to visit Khan el-Khalili Bazaar in the evening, your Egyptologist walks with you through it — same principle. They have no financial interest in what you buy there either.

Most inquiries receive a response within 2 hours during business hours (Cairo time, 9:00 AM–9:00 PM). When you send your dates and questions, a named person reads them and responds with something specific to your trip — not a template with a booking link. If you enquire on a weekend, you hear back the following morning. Your guide's personal WhatsApp number is included in your final itinerary. Our operations line is monitored throughout every trip we run.

What Guests Say

"By far the most knowledgeable guide we had the entire week. From the moment we settled into the car, the history lesson began and the sites came alive. This was our first tour of the week — and it completely spoiled us for everything that came after."

"Sameh was extremely knowledgeable — but more importantly, he understood what we actually wanted from the tour and arranged everything around that. He made 36 hours in Cairo genuinely memorable: the highlights of a huge, chaotic city, navigated with total ease."

— Traveler, UK · Cairo Private Day Tour · Guide: Sameh ★★★★★ Verified TripAdvisor

"Mahmoud is a fantastic Egyptologist — incredibly knowledgeable, and goes above and beyond at every stage to make sure you are safe, engaged, and genuinely enjoying yourself. Our driver Amr was equally professional. I could not have asked for a better experience on a 16-hour Cairo layover."
